Frequently Asked Questions
If you have a question that is not answered here, please contact us.
How do you select the best baby gear?
We do not buy or receive baby gear to evaluate. Instead, we take into account the opinions and recommendations of other unbiased and trusted review sites to determine if there is a general agreement on a best‑in‑class product for a specific baby gear category. Those products that make the cut are featured on the site. This consensus approach works very well for most baby gear; where there is no general agreement, we narrow the number of sites we use and also consider product reviews from buyers. We do the legwork for you so you don't have to. Don't agree with our choices? Then use our website as a starting point for your own research. You won't be disappointed.
How frequently is the site updated?
We strive to update the site whenever a best-rated product is in the news (e.g. is recalled), goes on sale, is discontinued or updated (e.g. with a new model, or with new features, fabric or color) by the manufacturer, or in response to feedback we get from visitors to our site. We also take into consideration product reviews posted on other sites (such as Amazon and YouTube) and will update this site with information that we believe will be of interest to you from these reviews (e.g. a new video).
Products that we feature are typically considered the best in their product categories and usually have a long shelf life; however, even these products occasionally get discontinued or are overtaken in the market by better or more innovative products. If this happens, we will replace featured products as per our selection criteria (see above) and post a notification on the site.
How is the site supported?
This site uses affiliate links for most of the products and accessories we feature. If you buy something through one of these links, you won't pay a penny more, but we'll get a small commission which keeps the lights on and supports our work.
You can read about our affiliate policy here.
Why don't you show prices?
The baby gear market is very competitive. Prices for popular and highly rated products tend to be fairly consistent across the board although the major retailers do, on occasion, lower prices and usually sell out quickly. That’s why we think it is important to know both pricing and product availability when shopping for baby gear. Unlike review sites that just list prices that may not be accurate, we want you to have information that is up‑to‑date and reliable, and we do that by providing links for pricing. We include links to major retailers such as Amazon, Target and Walmart, as well as eBay.
Every featured product on our website has a separate CHECK PRICES page. We made it easy for you to compare prices, saving you time and money.
How do I see prices?
To see the price for a product, just tap or click on a price link in the CHECK PRICES tables. Note that product colors or styles may have different prices.
Why do you sometimes list multiple products in a 'best' category?
We do this because we understand that not everyone has the same budget. We try to include at least one product in each category for the budget‑conscious. Sometimes we come across several highly rated products in a particular category, so rather than featuring just one product, we give you a choice and let you decide what's best for your situation, lifestyle and tastes.
_______ is highly rated. Why don't I see it on your site?
Rating baby gear is subjective. Websites that review baby gear invariably differ in how they get, evaluate and promote products. Our selection criteria for the best baby gear (see first question above) should give you a comfort level that the products we feature were selected as the best in their class based on a consensus approach that is trustworthy and objective.
We do look at other products based on feedback we get as well as our own research. If there is a better product out there, you will in due course find it on our site.
What does an ✘ mean in the CHECK PRICES tables?
It means that the retailer does not sell or no longer sells the product. Temporarily out‑of‑stock items will still be shown in the price links.
